The Coral Springs Museum of Art invites you to an Artist Talk featuring Luis Castañeda on February 24, 2018, at 3pm. Learn about his background, style in photographing, and the history of his photographs in the Danzzaria collection.

Luis Castañeda was born in Havana, Cuba in 1943. Moved to Spain in 1979 and came to the United States in 1985, residing in Miami, Florida and becoming US Citizen in 1991 while constantly traveling worldwide professionally, engaged in stock photography with several prestigious agencies that represent his work in many countries, like Getty Images (USA), Alamy (UK), Mauritius (Germany) and AGE Fotostock (Spain) among others.
Luis Castañeda started soon to work as a pro. His career celebrates this year his 53rd anniversary as professional photographer. His work covers many fields with no real specialization other than Photography itself. In Cuba he worked in close relationship with the Ministry of Culture and the Ballet Nacional de Cuba for many years. Always involved in the cultural scene worldwide, he has published several books, written articles in the best photographic magazines, given seminars and workshops in diverse countries and worked as technical consultant with camera manufacturers, like Leica, Hasselblad and Panasonic.
His work has received many prestigious awards, like “The Ortiz-Echagüe Award” (Spain), “Master of the Leica”(Germany) and “The Golden Eye” (Russia).
